Hearts That Rescue ("we," "us") is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation. This policy explains what information we collect through heartsthatrescue.org and how we use it.
Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and any message you send through our contact or newsletter forms.
Donation information: your name, email, billing address, and gift amount. Card and bank details go directly to our payment processor and are never stored by Hearts That Rescue.
Website usage: our website host, Squarespace, collects standard analytics data such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location, and uses cookies to operate the site.
How we use it
To process donations and send receipts; to respond to your messages; to send updates if you've joined our email list; and to keep records required by law.
How we share it
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us operate: Squarespace (website, email, and payment processor), and our accountant. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any message. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information by emailing hello@heartsthatrescue.org. We keep donation records as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site.
Security
Our site uses HTTPS encryption, and payments are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
